THE ORGANIZATION

BOARD OVERSIGHT


MEND Canada is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that provide responsible oversight for our finances and operations including:

  • Oversight of program activities

  • Input into, and approval of strategic direction

  • Ensuring management conducts the business and affairs of MEND Canada in accordance with our objectives, the law and regulation of the jurisdictions in which we operate, and any policies and guidelines issued by the Canada Revenue Agency in respect of charitable organizations.

PROGRAM FOUNDER AND TEAM LEADER


Leads the organization. This includes Indigenous community (reserve and urban) outreach and sponsor/donor development and maintenance. Responsible for ensuring MEND Canada maintains financial health and transparency, progresses towards established goals and strategies, redefining goals and strategies over time, and overall organization growth.

ORGANIZATIONAL FOCUS


Partnerships, Communications and Culture


Provides strategic leadership and vision for the organization’s fundraising and marketing/communications strategies. This includes ensuring the people, partnerships, and systems across MEND’s network are aligned to meet the organization’s fundraising goals, advance MEND’s overall brand and move the mission forward. Sets bold fundraising targets and leads development and marketing/communications efforts to successfully meet those goals. 


operational EFFECTIVENESS and accountability


Oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organization. This includes developing and maintaining budgets, establishing and maintaining policies and procedures, overseeing the review and processing of program applications, bookkeeping management and assessing performance by evaluating data and metrics to recommend process and procedure improvements.


Strategy and Programs


To articulate the organization's strategy to ensure long term sustainability. This includes providing strategy and operational advice from early organization development through to execution and ongoing operations. Advises regarding emerging trends to support the ongoing success and growth of MEND Canada.
