Eddie Evans
Founder, Entrepreneur & Philanthropist

Eddie Evans is a distinguished Canadian rugby player, entrepreneur, and dedicated philanthropist committed to youth empowerment and community development. Over his 14-year playing career (1985–1999), he earned 50 caps for the Canada national team, representing his country in three Rugby World Cups (1987, 1991, and 1995). Evans began his club career with UBC Old Boys Ravens before moving to Japan in 1992 to play for IBM. His contributions to the sport were recognized with inductions into the BC Rugby Hall of Fame (Class of 2024) and the Rugby Canada Hall of Fame (Class of 2024).

Beyond the field, Evans has dedicated himself to fostering sports and leadership opportunities for young athletes. After retiring in 2002, he founded X-treme Rugby Wear, a Thailand-based sportswear company, reflecting his passion for mentorship, youth development, and the values of teamwork and perseverance.

As the Founder and Chairman of Nak Suu Rugby Academy, Evans has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for underprivileged children, including those from slum communities and orphanages, using rugby as a tool for character development, education, and social empowerment. His efforts have helped transform the lives of countless young athletes by instilling discipline, resilience, and hope for a better future.

Evans is also a board member of MEND Canada, where he brings his wealth of experience in sports, leadership, and international business to support the organization’s mission of building stronger, healthier communities.
